Initial Work Underway for New Westwood Library

Town officials began work for the initial portion of the New Westwood Library project on Monday, and is expected to be completed no later than Tuesday.

Preparations for work on the New Westwood Library began Monday, with much of the work being done in the wooded lot behind the Colburn School.

The work, carried out by the Westwood Department of Public Works, includes the clearing of trees and shrubs behind the Colburn School. The preparations are meant to make way for the move of the school, the first portion of the project that is expected to happen by late fall.

Town officials said the work should end no later than Tuesday this week. The New Library project is expected to break ground by sometime in early 2011.
