Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee Meeting

The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, in conjunction with the Planning Board, will hold a meeting with all members of the topical subcommittees: Community Character; Community Services, Facilities and Recreation; Housing; Open Space, Natural and Historical Resources; Transportation, and Economic Development.

Part One: Joint Committees Meeting for Comprehensive Plan Update 

1. Introduction of Steering Committee Members/Introduction of Plan Element Sub-Committee Members, Planning Board and Staff & Guests
2. General explanation of committee roles and project structure; exchange of ideas with participants on roles and interaction
3. Discussion on project timelines, meetings going forward
4. Summary and discussion on major goals and objectives of 2000 Comprehensive Plan, what Plans generally aspire to do and what Westwood’s Plan has accomplished to date
5. Breakout Groups by plan element, to gather participant’s thoughts and perceptions on Westwood’s issues shaping the town’s next 10 years
6. Reporting out by Breakout Groups

Part Two: Continuation of Housing Forums

1.  Overview of what has occurred with housing issues in this process to date

2.  Overview of the two Planning Board housing-related initiatives for annual town meeting 2011

3.  Discussion on housing issues in proposal for Open Space Residential Development (OSRD)

4.  Discussion of major amendments to Senior Residential development (SRD)
