Westwood Woman Defrauded of $700 by Telephone Solicitor

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Wednesday, March 6

12:14 p.m.: Officers received a report of an incident of fraud. Pear Tree Drive resident said she conducted business with an individual who she though was legitimate but defrauded her of 700. They met over a telephone solicitation. 

4 p.m.: A caller reported suspicious activity involving a person standing on a traffic island with a sign displaying an advertisement. An officer responded and the person decided to leave.

7:44 p.m.: Officers responded to a child custody dispute on Cedar Hill Drive. A woman was supposed to pick her children up at her husband's house when she called police. The children were able to go home with their mother.
