Westwood Police: 'Persons of Interest' Not Involved in Cooperative Bank Robbery

Police have released two individuals related to a bank robbery that took place Wednesday.

Two individuals that were in the custody of the Westwood Police Department have been determined not to be involved in an on Washington Street Wednesday.

Police received report of the robbery around 11:55 a.m. on Wednesday, when an alleged white male entered the Cooperative Bank and passed a note to a teller, demanding money, according to a statement made by the Westwood Police Wednesday night.

The suspect intimidated that he had a weapon, but did not show one to the teller at the time of the robbery.

Shortly after the incident, police detained two individuals that were described as “persons of interest” were, after investigation, determined to not be involved in the robbery, Westwood Police said, and they were released from police custody with no criminal charges filed.

Westwood Police will continue to investigate the incident with the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force, and the suspect involved in the incident is described as being a white male in his early-to-late 20s, and approximately 5-foot-6-inches to 5-foot-8-inches of medium build.
