Westwood Police Logs: Vehicle Damage, Attempted Theft and Credit Card Fraud

Friday, July 27

Tailgate Window Smashed (1:51 p.m.) - Westwood Police received a report of vehicle damage, after a the tailgate window of a Sports Utility vehicle was smashed while it was parked on Nahatan Street.

Attempted Theft at COA (10:49 a.m.) - Police received a report of a suspicious individual at the Westwood Council on Aging, where it was reported that a person wearing "work clothes" entered the COA and lifted an umbrella out of a bag belonging to another individual. The perpetrator realized he was then being watched and replaced the umbrella before leaving the property, according to police.

Wallet Utilized (4:05 p.m.) - An individual called police from Southwest Park to report that their wallet had been left behind overnight at a business in the area. The individual then discovered that unauthorized purchases were made from a credit card in the wallet. The matter is under investigation. 

Attempted Home Break-In on Fisher Street (2:38 p.m.) - Police received a report that someone attempted to break into a home on Fisher Street. A screen had been cut and removed from a window frame, police said, though no entry had been gained into the home. The matter remains under investigation. 

Credit Card Fraud Reported (2:16 p.m.) - Police received a report that a resident of Far Reach Road returned home from vacation and found that their credit card had been used. The matter is under investigation.
