Westwood Police Log: Student Caught with Pot, Accident on School St.

A student at Westwood High School was disciplined for having marijuana, and a School St. accident results in minor injuries.

September 28, 8:43 a.m. - Westwood Police responded to a juvenile matter on Nahatan street, after receiving reports from Westwood High School officials that a student had been found to have a small quantity of marijuana. 

School officials handled the disciplinary actions on their end, according to Westwood Police, and the matter continues to be under investigation on the police end. 

September 28, 9:33 a.m. - Police responded to the intersection of School Street and Schaefer Avenue after two vehicles collided in the area.

The accident involved a 1997 Chevrolet and a 2004 Mercury. According to reports, the Chevrolet had been traveling west on School Street, when the Mercury attempted to turn onto School Street from Schaefer Avenue. The Mercury traveled into the path of the Chevrolet and the two cars collided.

The operator of the Chevrolet was transported to Norwood Hospital, complaining of minor injuries. Both cars were towed from the scene.
