Westwood Police Log: Strange Request in Route 1 Parking Lot

Police questioned a man on Route 1 in Westwood after he asked an uncommon request of a woman in the area.

Westwood Police recently received a report of a suspicious confrontation from an employee of a local business on Providence Highway, according to police reports.

The employee, who had been sitting in her car at a parking lot on Route 1 in Westwood, said she had elevated her feet out of her car window, when a man driving a grey Toyota approached her and asked her if he could kiss her feet, Police said. The man also offered to give the woman a tee shirt.

Police received the call on August 13 at around 1:37 p.m., and responded to the area, where they questioned a 41-year-old man from Wellesley in the parking lot of K&G Fashion Superstore at 411 Providence Hwy.

A background check revealed that the man works in Norwood, and has no history of partaking in such activity, and police believed it to be more of a cultural issue, according to reports.

It was not clear if the encounter took place in the K&G parking lot, Police said, nor was it clear what business the caller had worked at.
