Westwood Police Log: Resident Complains of Online Scam

A resident was hit by an online scam, and the DPW is forced to widen the roadway of Fox Hill Street.

February 8, 11:22 a.m. – A resident of Dover Road in Westwood entered the Westwood Police Station to file a report of a counterfeit money order, according to recent police reports.

The resident reportedly had been a victim of a scam that originated on an online social network involving a real estate ad. The resident, police said, was not aware of the nature of the scam when it took place.

The matter continues to be investigated.

February 8, 11:31 a.m. – Police received reports from a resident of Fox Hill Street, who claimed that the roadway was extraordinarily narrow due to snow banks, and as such a trash-disposal vehicle and another motorist were unable to pass each other at the same time.

The Westwood Department of Public Works was contacted and responded to the area to widen the roadway.
