Westwood Police Log: Police Apprehend Armed Robber from Norwood

A broadcast report from Norwood Police allowed Westwood Police to locate and detain the suspect.

Westwood Police apprehended a man on Tuesday night who was wanted by the Norwood Police Department regarding a recent armed robbery, according to reports.

At around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, Westwood Police stopped a 2003 Jeep after receiving a broadcast report from Norwood Police, who were in search of an armed robbery suspect with a syringe during an incident in Norwood. Police identified the Jeep through knowledge of the vehicle's make and license plate number, and pulled it over for probably cause, subsequently removing the suspect from the vehicle.

The suspect was also found with individually-wrapped bags of marijuana on his person, and received a criminal summons from Westwood Police for possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute.

Norwood Police were contacted and upon arrival, took custody of the suspect, who was arraigned yesterday on charges stemming from the incident in Norwood.
