Westwood Police Log: One Injured in Three-Car Crash

The following information was supplied by the Westwood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The driver of a 2003 Ford Taxi was taken to Norwood Hospital with minor injuries last week after he was involved in a three-car accident near on Washington Street.

The accident occurred around 8:20 a.m. on Sept. 22, when a a 2006 Nissan, driven by a 27-year-old woman from Randolph, exited the Dunkin Donuts parking lot, attempting to turn south on Washington Street, when she struck the taxi, which was also traveling south on the road.

The taxi then went over onto the sidewalk, eventually becoming impaled on a wooden guard rail.

Meanwhile, a 2001 Mitsubishi, driven by a 23-year-old Dedham man who was also driving south, drove up on a curb and into a handful of trees while trying to avoid the accident.

The operator of the Nissan was cited for failing to yield for oncoming traffic, police said. All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
