Westwood Police Log: No Injuries in Head-On Collision on Gay Street

The following information was supplied by the Westwood Police Department.

Cars Towed, None Injured in Head-On collision

June 2, 3:43 p.m. - Westwood Police responded to the area of Gay Street and Buckboard Lane, where a 2004 Lexus and a 2011 Hyundai collided head on. 

The incident occurred after the Hyundai, which was traveling eastbound on Gay Street, crossed over teh double yellow lines into the oncoming lane.

As a result, the Hyundai collided with the Lexus, which police said tried to avert the collision; the accident was not a direct head-on.

But vehicles were towed from the scene as they sustained substantial damage. There were no injuries as a result, police said.

Person Reported as 'Acting Deranged'

June 3, 10:07 a.m. - Police received a report of a suspicious individual in the area of Westwood Glen Road. 

The person, a resident of the area, was reported as acting in a deranged state, and upon police arrival the person was transported to Norwood Hospital for evaluation.
