Westwood Police Log: Motor Vehicle Break-ins

The following information was provided by the Westwood Police Department. When arrests are mentioned there is no indication of convictions.

Thursday, October 25

In the overnight hours between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, 19 different motor vehicles were broken into. All of the vehicles were in the same area, meaning it is likely it was the same individual who committed all the break-ins. A few of the streets where these crimes occured include: Cobleigh St., Hawthorn St. and Elm St.

Also of note is the fact that all of the vehicles that were broken into were left unlocked. The perpetrator left evidence that (s)he searched through the cars. One piece of electronic equipment was stolen, but the rest of the cars only had quantities of change taken.
