Westwood Police Log: Money Found, Car Vandalised at High School

A citizen turned in money found in Norwood, and a resident's car was damaged at Westwood High School.

February 17, 9:02 a.m. – A local citizen entered the Westwood Police Station to turn in some money and credit cards that were found in Norwood.

A number of personal papers were also turned into police, and the property was entered into the evidence system as police wait for the rightful owner to claim the findings.

February 17, 10:22 a.m. – Police responded to a two-car accident on High Street, which resulted in a criminal summons being issued for one of the drivers involved.

The accident occurred after a 2003 Chevrolet hit a 2009 AMC Jeep from behind while in traffic on High Street.

No injuries were reported, and neither car was towed, however a 34-year-old man from Framingham was cited for unlicensed operation after the incident.

February 17, 2:34 p.m. – A resident of Field Street in Westwood reported to police that their vehicle – a Volkswagen – had been vandalized while parked at Westwood High School.

A spoiler that had been on the car was removed, according to police. The value of the spoiler is set at $1,000. The matter continues to be investigated.
