Westwood Police Log: Graffiti Found at Martha Jones, Resident's Mailbox Vandalized

Martha Jones Graffiti

Sept. 6, 11:01 a.m. - Westwood Police responded to the after receiving a report that graffiti had been spotted on the Do Not Enter Sign at the school.

The graffiti, police said, was written in black Magic Marker, and had comprised various obscene messages.

The incident was documented, the sign was photographed and the graffiti was removed by custodial staff.

Additional checks on the building are being conducted, police said.

Mailbox Destroyed on Longmeadow Road

Sept. 7, 8:26 a.m. - Police received a report from a Longmeadow Road resident claiming that his mailbox had been severely defaced.

Specifically, the individual numbers on the mailbox had been scraped off, and the post supporting the mailbox was damaged.

The matter is under investigation, police said, and additional surveillance of the area is being conducted.
