Westwood Police Log: Forged Checks Cashed at Roche Bros.

A Boston resident reported to Westwood Police that a number of forged checks belonging to them were cashed in Westwood last spring.

A Boston resident visited the Westwood Police station on October 2 at around 9:22 a.m. to report that a number of forged checks had been cashed in Westwood this past spring. 

The resident claimed that a family member had been forging the checks and cashing them at a variety of communities in the Boston area over a period of several months. 

As a result, the resident has been going to the different communities where it is suspected the checks have been cashed, reporting the incident to the proper authorities.

Two of the checks were separately cashed at Roche Brothers on Washington Street in Westwood, on April 29 and May 22. Both checks exceeded $200 each, according to Westwood Police reports.

The Boston Police Department are currently investigating the matter, as the resident is from Boston.
