Westwood Police Log: East St. Rotary Car Accidents Continue
Multiple fender-benders have been reported at the rotary.
August 5, 1:11 p.m. – Westwood Police responded to the East Street rotary that passes over Route 128 in response to a two-car accident last week.
A 1999 Audi, operated by a 22-year-old female from Norwood, was struck from behind by a 1998 Jeep, operated by a 20-year-old from Whitman, according to police reports.
The Audi had stopped at a yield sign when the Jeep hit the vehicle from behind. Police indicated that this was a typical accident at the rotary, and no injuries were reported.

August 8, 3:23 p.m. – Police responded to a similar accident at the East Street rotary that took place on Sunday, August 8.
A 2005 Pontiac, operated by a 59-year-old female from Dedham, approached a 1997 Mitsubishi from behind at a yield sign at the rotary. Thinking the Mitsubishi, driven by a 27-year-old from Hyde Park, was going to accelerate, the driver of the Pontiac struck the vehicle from behind.

The driver of the Pontiac was given a written warning for following a vehicle too closely. No injuries were reported.
