Westwood Police Log: Credit Card Fraud Reported, Car Broken Into on Hillview Road

A resident reported credit card fraud, and a car was broken into on Hillview Road in Westwood.

February 6, 4:42 p.m. – A resident of Nahatan Street reported to police that a credit card had been compromised, according to Westwood Police reports.

The card, police said, had been used for purchases at a liquor store located in South Africa, though the resident claimed they had never been in South Africa.

February 7, 1:52 p.m. –Police responded to a Hillview Road residence after receiving a report that a vehicle had been broken into overnight.

The vehicle was reportedly unlocked at the time of the break-in, and a pocketbook with loose change and credit card were stolen.

The credit card has since been cancelled, police said, and no fraudulent activity has been reported as of yet.
