Westwood Police Log: Contractor Steals Money, Fence is Damaged

Business Gone Bad

August 2, 9:06 a.m. - A Forbes Road resident entered the Police Department, reporting that a home improvement contractor had stolen $600 from him.

The resident reportedly wrote a check to the contractor, who then deposited the funds but did not complete any work.

A criminal summons has been filed with for larceny, police said.

Teens Damage Fence at Buckmaster Pond

August 2, 1:41 p.m. - Westwood Police received a report from a passerby driving near that two individuals were acting in a suspicious manner in the area.

Police responded and found two teenage males, on aged 17 and one 15, who were standing at the base of an electrical transformer, knocking pickets off a nearby fence.

Police made contact with the teens' parents to address the matter.
