Westwood Police Log: Car Break-Ins Continue

Westwood has seen a fair share of car break-ins as of late, the reason being most of those cars are unlocked.

Westwood Police are continuing to receive reports that unlocked cars are being broken into. 

"We've been dealing with repeated incidents of unlocked cars being entered," said Westwood Police Detective Paul Toland.

August 31, 12:15 p.m. – The most recent incident occurred at a residence on Wessex Drive.

In addition to a number of electronic devices, a suitcase containing clothing and toiletries was taken from a Toyota Corolla parked at the residence, according to reports.

September 3, 9:12 a.m. – Meanwhile, police also received reports that a vehicle parked in a Washington Street driveway was looted of a motorcycle bag containing two sets of keys to a motorcycle. The matter is still under investigation.

September 7, 7:31 a.m. – Two more vehicles were broken into during the overnight hours on Parker Street, according to reports.

Both vehicles – a 2007 Jeep and a 2006 Toyota Sequoia – were unlocked, Police said, and GPS unit was taken from at least one of the vehicles.
