Westwood Police Log: Bottle Thrown at House, Driver Found Smoking Pot

A drive-by bottle throwing affects a house on Tamarak Road, while a driver out of Dedham is caught smoking pot.

August 6, 11 p.m. – Westwood Police responded to the area of Tamarack Road after receiving a report of suspicious activity involving a plastic bottle.

The residents of a home on Tamarack Road reported that around 11 p.m. on Friday, August 6, their doorbell rang and shortly thereafter a plastic bottle had been thrown at the front door of the house. The residents then checked the area surrounding the home and found no one present, but did hear a vehicle drive off after the bottle hit the home.

The residents, police said, don't have any children and were confused as to what would cause the mischief. The matter is under investigation, according to reports.

August 7, 4:05 p.m. – Westwood Police were recently notified by the Dedham Police department that a suspicious green Dodge Neon had been heading into Westwood on the northbound side of Route 1.

Police said the Dedham Police call stated that the female driver had two children in the back seat of the car, and she had been smoking a blunt of marijuana at the time.

Dedham Police later called Westwood Police, reporting the they had located the vehicle in Legacy Place and had taken care of the situation.
