Westwood Police Log: Backpacks Stolen at Hale, Sunglasses Missing at Spa

Two backpacks were recently looted from an unlocked car at Hale, while a woman reported a $400 pair of stolen sunglasses.

August 17, 6:39 p.m. – Westwood Police received a report from a hiker at Hale Reservation that two North Face backpacks had been stolen from a car on the Hale grounds between 5 and 6:20 p.m. on August 17.

The backpacks contained some cash and clothing inside, police said, and reports indicate that the car was unlocked at the time.

August 19, 4:30 p.m. – A Dover woman who was recently having her nails done at a local business on High Street in Westwood issued a report of theft to police.

The woman, prior to having her nails done, put a $400 pair of sunglasses on the counter next to her. By the time her service was completed, the sunglasses were missing, according to reports. The matter is currently under investigation.
