Westwood Police Log: Assault at Westwood Lodge

No serious injuries were reported when one patient hit another at the hospital.

May 17, 1:45 p.m. - officials responded to Westwood Lodge on Clapboardtree Street after receiving reports that two patients had assaulted each other. 

According to reports, one patient assaulted another, slapping them on the left side of the face. The Westwood Fire Department responded to the hospital and determined that there were no significant injuries. 

Both individuals were advised as to how to proceed after the incident. No specific mention was given as to what caused the dispute.

May 17, 4:58 p.m. - A motor vehicle stop on High Street resulted in Westwood Police confiscating two plastic bags containing marijuana residue, according to reports.  

Police stopped the vehicle - what reports described as a Volvo - after receiving a report of suspicious activity. Police then initiated the stop to see if any illicit activity had been taking place in the vehicle.

In addition to the bags of marijuana residue, the operator of the car also had an ID card that belonged to an older family member, police said. The card was also confiscated, and police informed the matter to the older family member.  

Not citations were issued, as no quantitative amount of marijuana was found, police said.
