Westwood Police Log: Arrest at Football Game

The following information was provided by the Westwood Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, September 7

Car Break-in (5:04 p.m.) - A caller reported that their car, a 2003 Volkswagon, had been broken into at a business parking lot on Providence Hwy. The front passenger side window had been broken and a GPS had been taken.

Front Door Damage (5:49 p.m.) - A Whitney Ave. resident reported that there had been damage done to their front door at some point during the previous 24 hours. The damage appeared to have been done by a pellet or BB gun.

ARREST (8:17 p.m.) - Paul Rodenbush, 51, of Westwood was arrested at the Westwood High School football game and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The incident began when Rodenbush was allegedly yelling and swearing and another fan asked him to watch his language. At this point he allegedly became angry at the other fan and began yelling at him. An officer working a detail at the game observed the commotion and approached to break up the argument. The officer noticed that Rodenbush was allegedly intoxicated and wanted to escort him out, but he allegedly became belligerent and was placed under arrest. He made bail and was arraigned in Dedham District Court on Monday, September 10.

Fraudulent Credit Card (12:23 p.m.) - A Croft Regis Rd. resident reported that he had received Visa cards in the mail and that one of the cards was not in his name and he did not know the person. A fraud alert was placed on his name and social security number.
