Westwood PD Releases Surveillance Footage of Car Involved in Hit-And-Run

Police are looking for a light-colored sedan that they suspect hit a woman in her 20s on Monday.

While the vehicle suspected in Monday's hit-and-run accident on Washington Street that left one person seriously injured had not been located as of Tuesday evening, have released of what they believe to be the light-colored sedan involved. 

The video, taken by surveillance cameras along Washington Street, shows the vehicle, a small, white-ish sedan with a moon roof, driving down Washington Street toward Norwood shortly after the incident around 9 p.m. Monday. 

Police believe it is the vehicle in the photographs and video that struck 26-year-old Jillian Belanger as she was walking her dog across the road near 400 Washington St. around 8:52 p.m.

Belanger was taken by ambulance to a Boston hospital Monday night after sustaining serious injuries. She was still hospitalized as of Tuesday evening. 

Westwood Police are looking for anyone with information relative to the vehicle or its operator to contact them at 781-320-1000.
