Westwood Fire Log: Car Bursts Into Flames on Providence Highway

A vehicle erupted into flames after an electrical malfunction on Rte 1.

A vehicle that had pulled off the road last week on Providence Highway burst into flames due to an electrical problem, Westwood Police and Fire officials said this week.

The incident took place on Sunday, November 28 at around 8:17 p.m.

There were two occupants in the 1988 Toyota Camera, though neither was injured as a result of the fire.

The occupants told police and fire officials that they noticed sparks on the floor boards of the vehicle while driving, and after they pulled over and exited the vehicle, the car ignited and was completely engulfed in flames by the time help arrived.
