Waltham Teen Arrested For Recent Graffiti Incidents

A 14-year-old Waltham kid will faces charges for spray painting tags on the sides of local buldings.

A 14-year-old Waltham kid has been arrested for allegedly spray painting graffiti tags on local buildings, according to Waltham Police. 

The boy, a Waltham Public Schools student, will be charged for one count for each tagging incident reported to police, according to Waltham Police Sgt. William Gallant. Police, who believe the suspect has been tagging "TANK" and "TANK2" on local buildings, are prohibited from naming him since he is a juvenile. 

The suspect was arrested at around 4:24 a.m. on July 26 when an officer spotted him emerging from behind the at 130 Lexington St. (across from headquarters), according to Gallant. The suspect had one spray paint can in a backpack and was holding another, Gallant said. 

Police believe the suspect sprayed several other tags the night of his arrest, according to Gallant. Tags appeared at the following addresses: 111 Charles St., 56 Felton St., 100 Felton St. and 429 River St., Gallant said. Also, Waltham Patch editor Ryan Grannan-Doll recently spotted a "TANK2" tag on the side of 139 Moody St., facing the Charles River. He reported it to police. 

Police believe the suspect was also responsible , Gallant said.

Part of his punishment should be to clean up the mess he made throughout the city, as of today the tagging remains.
