Police Trace Stolen Credit Card, Make Arrest

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Tuesday, April 2

10:56 a.m.: A Washington Street resident reported his credit card was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. Officers arrested Leramie Croft, 29, from 7 Hamlet Street in Dorchester after tracing the usage of the credit card to a nearby business. 

Police charged Croft with identity fraud and receiving stolen property. Officers could not prove Croft entered the car and stole the credit card.

Wednesday, April 3

1:49 p.m.: Officers received a report of a motor vehicle crash on High Street. Police say a vehicle struck a deer which caused no injuries to the driver. An officer saw movement in the injured deer and "dispatched" it.

4:28 p.m.: A resident filed a report of violation of an abuse prevention order. Officers issued a warrant for the arrest of Jason Ripley, age 27 from an unknown address.
