Police Logs Monday, May 21 through May 25

The following information is from the Westwood Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

 

Monday, May 21, 2012.

10:29 a.m. - Security tapes at Advanced Energy on Washington Street caught two people breaking in and entering the facility. The two people stole scrap metal, condensors, copper fittings and other various parts, including eight brand new copper lin e sets. The price of these items is estimated to be between $6,000 and $8,000. Former employee John Lane, 28, of Norwood was identified and arrested. Lane and an associate (who was summonsed to court) were charged with breaking and entering to committ a felony and larceny of over $250.

7:30 p.m. - A 2005 BMW went off the left side of road and hit a tree while driving westbound on Hartford Street after the driver fell asleep. The driver was taken to Norwood Hospital complaining of pain. The vehicle was towed. The driver was issued a citation for failure to stay with in marked lanes.

9:14 a.m. - Reports of a credit card fraud close to $90 were the result of a computer error and the charges were reversed. Nothing intentional/malicious afoot.

Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

4:57 p.m. - A 2011 Infinity was waiting to enter the East Street Rotary when it was struck by a 1999 Ford. Niether cars were towed, no injuries reported.

7:47 p.m. - Reports of fraudulent transactions to a Bank of America online checking account is currently under investigation.

Friday, May 25, 2012.

5:52 a.m. - Employee of Advanced Energy reported their car had been vandalized. A bankbook and other personal items were reported taken. The matter is under investigation.
