Police Log: Warrant Arrests, a Teen in a Trunk and a Damaged Window

The following information was supplied by the Westwood Police Department for the week of March 19-26. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, March 24

Teen Jumps Into Trunk (6:02 p.m.) - Westwood Police responded to a 9-1-1 call in which an individual reported seen a teenager jump into the trunk of a Lexus on Grove Street before the vehicle took off. Police located the vehicle, found that there was no one in the trunk, and sent the vehicle on their way. 

Norwood Man Arrested (12:45 a.m.) - Police arrested a 43-year-old Norwood man for driving under the influence of alcohol on Washington Street, where he was spotted driving faster than the speed limit.

Friday, March 23 

Broken Car Window (3:58 p.m.) - The driver of a 2004 Chevrolet on Canton Street called police to report a window on the vehicle had been broken. No items were reported missing from the vehicle, and no other vehicles in the area were damaged, according to reports. It was not immediately clear what caused the damage.

Thursday, March 22

Westwood Man Arrested (10:39 a.m.) - Westwood Police arrested a 21-year-old Westwood man on a warrant issued out of Dedham District Court for probation-related issues. 

Tuesday, March 20

Hit-And-Run on East Street (3:16 p.m.) - Police issued a criminal summons for the driver of a vehicle who hit a 1992 Accura from behind on the East Street Rotary before driving off. No personal injury was reported, police said. 

Barnstable Man Arrested (12:02 p.m.) - Police arrested a 35-year-old Barnstable man on Clapboardtree Street on a warrant issued out of Barnstable District Court. It was not immediately clear what the warrant was issued for.
