Police Log: Two Arrested for Drunk Driving

Westwood Man Arrested After Hitting Car on Oak Street

Jan. 11, 7:18 p.m. - A Westwood man was arrested last week after he hit a car on Oak Street while driving drunk.

A Pond Street resident was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

The resident was arrested after he struck a 2007 Mitsubishi with his 2006 Ford on Oak Street. The Mitsubishi had been backing into a driveway at the time of the accident.

The Ford was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

South Boston Man Arrested for OUI

Jan. 14, 11:34 p.m. - A South Boston resident was arrested after running a red light on Washington Street and hitting a 2012 Mercedes while driving drunk.

Police arrested the driver of a 2011 Toyota and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a red light violation.

While driving north on Washignton Street, the driver ran a red light at the intersection of Everett Street, where he struck the Mercedes, which was traveling west on that road.

Both cars were towed from the scene, the driver of the Toyota was transported to Norwood Hospital for minor injuries. The other driver was not injured.
