Police Log: Suspicious Man in Woods, Medical Emergency

The following information was provided by the Westwood Police Department.

Wednesday, Dec. 19

8:56 a.m.: A driver was transported to Norwood Hospital with pain after the car he was operating was struck by another vehicle on Canton Street. 

9:23 a.m.: A caller reported a man in the wooded area behind Hanlon School was carrying a long black bag. Officers responded and determined the man was looking for valuables with a metal detector. Officers transported the man to the nearest bus station.

Thursday, Dec. 20

1:46 a.m.: An officer on patrol provided a courtesy transport to a male in all black clothing. The officer was worried the male would be struck by a car.

8:26 a.m.: Officers provided a lift assist for someone who fell on Westwood Glen Road. After assisting the person, officers realized the person was injured and determined the person should be transported to an area hospital.
