Police Log: Stolen Copper, Trespassing and a Budget Inn Arrest

Sunday, June 24
Missing Mail (7:26 p.m.) - A Washington Street resident reported to Westwood Police that a package had been delivered to his home by FedEx, but was taken off the porch.

Vandalism to Business (4:20 p.m.) - Police received report from a business on University Avenue that someone had vandalized a group of trucks at a building. Specifically, someone had poured sand down the engine filter of the vehicles, which was accessible via the exterior of the trucks. Extra checks have been requested in the area.

Copper Stolen (10:24 a.m.) - Police filed a report of stolen copper from a construction site on Allied Drive. About 40 feet of copper pipe had been cut from a building that is currently being demolished on the road. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 4 p.m. the previous day and 7 a.m. the day police received the report.
Mailbox Damaged (9:32 a.m.) - A Summer Street resident reported that someone had damaged a mailbox at their home during the overnight hours.
Monday, June 18
Trespassing on Pleasant Valley Road (1:59 p.m.) - Police investigated a report of trespassing in the Pleasant Valley Road area, after a resident saw individuals enter an abandoned home. Upon arrival, police located three youths, and told them not to re-enter the property.
Arrest at Budget Inn (9:52 a.m.) - Police arrested a 46-year-old man at the Budget Inn for disorderly conduct and trespassing. The man, police said, listed the lodging as his residence, and was arrested after the management of the Inn requested police presence regarding a disagreement with a patron.
