Police Log: Mercedes Wheels Stolen, a Stranger Avoided and Warrant Arrests

The following information was supplied by the Westwood Police Department for the week of Feb. 20-26. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Feb. 26

Potential Home Break In (7:11 p.m.) - A High Street resident reported to police that someone had tried to gain entry into their home during a recent absence. Upon investigation, police found a small window pane had been broken on the interior door, but determined that no entry into the home had been gained.

Littleton Man Arrested (3:54 p.m.) - Police arrested a Littleton man on Providence Highway after responding to a disturbance at the  dealership on Rte. 1. Management at the dealership called police in regards to an unruly customer who claimed he was an Air Force Pilot and had relations to Area 51, according to Police. Police arrested the man, a 23-year-old man from Littleton, on a warrant for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver's license. The warrant was issued out of Ayer District Court.

Milton Resident Arrested (8:01 p.m.) - Westwood Police arrested a Milton woman on Washington Street after pulling her vehicle over on the road. The woman, 41, was arrested on two warrants issued out of Dedham District Court, though reports do not indicate the nature of the warrants. 

House Party Broken Up (10:12 p.m.) - Police responded to the area of Clapboardtree Street after receiving reports of a large group that had congregated in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, police determined there had been a house party in the area, and the occupants of the party scattered away upon police arrival. A small quantity of alcohol was located and confiscated. The matter continues to be under investigation. 

Fight Attempt on Dela Park Road (11:28 p.m.) - Police responded to a Dela Park Road residence on a report of an individual on the property attempting to fight a person inside the home. The individual was intoxicated, police said, and was subsequently transported to Norwood Hospital in regards to a medical complaint. 

Tuesday, Feb. 21

Mercedes Wheels Stolen From Car (6:15 a.m.) - A resident of Clapboardtree Street reported to police that, upon returning home from vacation, the wheels of their 2006 Mercedes had been stolen from the vehicle. Police estimated the cost of the wheels, including rims, to be around $1,000. The matter is under investigation. 

Theft at Public Storage (9:40 a.m.) - A manager at the office on East Street reported a past breaking and entering into the building. Upon investigation, police found a small quantity of cash had been removed from the office sometime over the previous weekend. The matter is under investigation. 

Child Avoids Stranger (2:28 p.m.) - A resident of High Street reported that her 8-year-old daughter had been approached by a stranger in a black vehicle at their home. Police said the child had been playing in the back yard when the man pulled up to the front of the home, got out of the car and motioned for the girl to approach him, at which point she then turned around and went inside the house. The man then drove away; police were unable to find anyone in the area upon arrival.
