Police Log: Internet Scam, Vandalism

The following information was provided by the Westwood Police Department.

Friday, Jan. 17

1:50 a.m.: Police received a report of an Internet scam. A company said they were monitoring a Westwood resident's credit and they would coach the resident on keeping on top of their debt for a $700 fee. 

3 p.m.: A resident of High Street reported her mailbox being smashed.

5:21 p.m.: A caller reported a motor vehicle crash on Allied Drive. An ambulance was dispatched but was refused at the scene. The crash was a two-car motor vehicle crash in the East Street rotary. A vehicle was entering the rotary when another failed to stop and struck the first vehicle.
