Police Log: Boston Motorcyclist Arrested and Facing Multiple Charges

The following information was provided by the Westwood Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Thursday, August 2

Motor Vehicle Accident- There was a motor vehicle accident at the East Street Rotary. A 1998 Dodge rear-ended a 2011 Hyundai as it entered the Rotary. Officers responded and took information for an accident report. No injuries were reported.

Wednesday, August 1

Motor Vehicle Accident- A one car accident was took place around noon at the corner of Clapboardtree Street and Nahatan Street. A 2011 Porsche SUV struck a utility pole after the driver appeared to fall asleep. The driver refused medical treatment and an officer drove him home.

Tuesday, July 31

Arrest - At about 4 p.m. an officer observed a man riding a dirt bike without a helmet and traveling at a high rate of speed on East Street. The officer began to pursue the dirt bike, but the rider failed to stop. The dirt bike then made contact with a white SUV at the East Street Rotary. Boston resident Edward Contreras, 20, was placed under arrest and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for a police officer, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating a motorcycle without a helmet, having an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.
