Jan. 5, 5:25 p.m. - Westwood Police received a report of a Pond Plain Road resident regarding a past assault and battery.
The incident stems from a verbal disagreement that took place in another jurisdiction, which turned into a physical assault in Westwood, police said. The matter remains under investigation.

Jewelry Theft
Jan. 5, 7:05 p.m. - A Westfield Street resident reported coming home and finding someone had entered their house, stealing a quantity of jewelry.

The home, police said, was left unsecured, and it appeared that the incident took place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Police are investigating the incident.
