Police Investigating Armed Robbery at Public Storage

Break-ins have been in recent weeks in Westwood.

But now, unlike the more common home break-ins, the most recent incident involved the facility on East Street.

Westwood Police responded to the business on Tuesday, March 20, at around 4 p.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery, according to a news statement by the Wednesday morning.

Police have described the alleged suspect as a "lone Hispanic or light-skinned black male", who reportedly entered the Public Storage facility and confronted the clerk, revealing what was believed to be a gun. He reportedly ordered the clerk to hand over the daily receipts and left the business.

The alleged suspect is described as being in his mid-to-late 20s, wearing a dark-colored jacket.
