Police Arrest Four After High Street Break-In

Westwood Police arrested two adults and two juveniles on Wednesday after they .

A citizen driving on High Street at about 10:15 a.m. called police to report suspicious activity at a home on the road, according to a statement by police Wednesday night. 

The driver saw two males run across High Street and watched them interact with the occupants of a minivan. Police were dispatched to the area and located the same van parked at the Dunkin Donuts’ plaza on High Street.

Police placed surveillance on the van whil other officers went door to door, canvassing residences on the road. 

During that search, one officer discovered an open rear window and slider to a home. After further investigation, police immeidately noticed the home to be ransacked, with valuables stacked by the front door. Police then entered the home.

After a room to room search, police found one suspect, a 16 year-old juvenile, hiding in the master bedroom of the home, which had also been ransacked. The juvenile had a knife on him at the time, and was placed into custody. 

"A canine from the Massachusetts State Police was requested to the scene, and during the search, another male suspect, identified as Angelo Ayuso, age 25, was found by the police canine hiding in the basement of the home under a pile of clothes and boxes," Westwood Police said in a statement. "Ayuso was wearing one glove and a black stocking cap; he had a backpack that he had loaded with belongings from the home."

The individuals in the van under surveillance at the Dunkin’ Donuts Plaza were involved with Ayuso and the un-named juvenile, police learned upon further investigation. 

Police then arrested the two occupants of the van; a juvenile, age 15, whose name is being withheld because of his age, and Adrianna Baptiste, age 19, of Dorchester. 

All four suspects were charged by Westwood Police with Breaking and Entering in the Daytime to Commit a Felony and Larceny Over $250.00.
