Handful of Mailboxes Vandalized After Halloween

received a string of reports regarding damaged or broken mailboxes last week.  

One report came from a resident of Whitney Avenue, where a number of "kids" were allegedly knocking down mailboxes on Halloween at around 10:30 p.m.

Police responded to the area, but the parties were gone upon arrival. It was also reported that mailboxes were damaged in the area of Oak Street.

On Friday, Nov. 4, police received a report from a resident of Smith Drive, who claimed that someone had thrown a pumpkin at her mailbox during the overnight hours, dislodging it from its post. 

The particular act may be tied to Halloween, police said. Officials last week due to damage from the recent winter storm.
