Accident on Washington, Everett Street Slows Traffic

Traffic was slowed in Westwood Tuesday afternoon after two vehicles collided on the Westwood-Norwood line.

Traffic in Westwood was tied up earlier this afternoon after two vehicles collided on the Norwood town line.

The accident, which took place at around 12:29 p.m. at the intersection of Washington Street and Everett, actually occurred in Norwood, Westwood Police said on the scene. 

The incident occurred after two cars – a 1995 Nissan and a 2008 Ford – collided at the intersection.

The collision occurred after the Nissan attempted to turn left from Everett onto Washington Street, cutting into the path of the Ford, which was driving on Washington Street toward Providence Highway. 

The operator of the Nissan was taken to Norwood Hospital for minor injuries, and both cars were towed from the scene, according to Norwood Police spokesperson Kevin Grasso. Both Norwood and Westwood Police, as well as Fire and Emergency Medical Service crews were on the scene Tuesday.

No citations were issued as a result of the accident, according to police reports.
