Bidding Westwood a Fond Farewell

A brief note of thanks from the editor of Westwood Patch.

Dear Westwood Readers,

In June 2010, with an eagerness to meet residents, learn about hot-button issues in town, and, in turn, report to you the news a variety of fashions, from general news articles to video footage to photo galleries.

Granted, I couldn't be everywhere, but I tried to encapsulate all-things Westwood to the best of my ability. In the time I've spent walking the streets and speaking with local residents, officials and businesses, I've felt humbled to meet everyone and see Westwood Patch grow into what it has today.

I reflect on that point two years ago, because as of this week I am winding down my time as the editor of this site. However, I won't be straying far. Moving forward I will be working as an Associate Regional Editor for several Patch sites in Southeastern Massachusetts. I am happy to note that the town of Westwood is included within that region, and I expect to continue to write and edit for the site on a frequent basis as needed.

As such, I simply wanted to thank all of you, our devout readers, for your continued input, feedback and support during the last two years. It's been an extremely rewarding experience to report the news for you all, and to work with you in a variety of capacities.

Standing in my place will be Rob Rosen, who comes to us this month as the new Local Editor of Westwood Patch and Dover-Sherborn Patch. I'm excited to work closely with Rob as he transitions into his new role, and I'm confident he'll do a great job as your new editor.

Rob can be reached at robert.rosen@patch.com. Please join me in welcoming him to town. If you have any questions for me moving forward, I can still be reached at mattp@patch.com. You can also follow me on Twitter @SEMassPatch.

Thanks again for all your support. I look forward speaking with you all soon!

Best regards,
Matt Perkins
