Westwood Little League Thanks Sponsors, Exhibitors and Volunteers

The WLL wishes to thank various groups for helping at last month's Hot Stove event.

To the Editor,

Spring may be several weeks away, but Westwood came together on Jan. 29 to celebrate the game of baseball at the .

It was a huge success made possible by the sponsors, volunteers and the Varsity Baseball Players and Coach Brian Whelan. WLL truly appreciates the able assistance of the Westwood High School Cafe West staff and custodians.

Our sponsors included Athletic Republic, Monkey Sports and . Many thanks to Hill Homes Market and Table Talk Pies for their donations of juice and pie.

Exhibitors enhanced the event by sharing information about their specialties. Exhibitors included several Westwood residents: Cartoonist Eddie Germano, Sports Memorabilia Aficionado, Charlie Orcutt, and Static, a local rock band.

Also attending were New England Sports Photography and baseball training representatives: Baseball Consultants, Sluggers Academy and Sweet Swings Academy. 

Hats off to the WLL Hot Stove Committee chaired by Michelle Berluti; members included Maureen Clancy, Meg Harrington, Beth Kendall, Laura Reilly, Rachel Vande Rydt, Kathy Wallace, Amy Warshay and Pam Welch.

We had a fantastic turnout and everybody who attended had a great time. I am looking forward to a great baseball season in 2012!
