Winners Named in Westwood Library Raffle

Another raffle will be held at this weekend's annual book sale.

Two winners have been named in the Dino Quilt and Autographed Book raffles organized by the Friends of the Westwood Public Library.

Waldo Way residents Celesete and Rank Fitzhenry were selected at random from the list of reisdents who joined the FOL in 2011 to receive an autographed copy of Elin Hilderbrand’s novel The Island.

"It's a good town resource," Celeste said in a statement last week.

Meanwhile, Hartford Street resident Suzanne Chin has been named the winner of a child's blue dinosaur quilt made by Westwood Librarian Ann Thomas.

Thomas created the quilt and donated it to the library, saying it reminded her of Penny the Dinosaur, the FOL mascot who collects extra coins from children to help fund the Westwood Public Library's programs, including book purchases, technology upgrades, author visits, children’s activities and museum passes.

But it's not the last chance for bibliophiles in Westwood to win a prize and support the library.

This Saturday, the FOL will be selling raffle tickets at its one-day book bonanza. The prize is a basketful of autographed books from best-selling mystery writer and town resident, Jan Brogan

Titles include Teaser, A Confidential Source and her first novel, Final Copy, which was named one of the eight best mysteries of 2001 by The Drood Review of Mystery.
