Westwood’s Melanie Guerra Hosts Jewelry Trunk Show this Saturday at DSAG

The Dedham Square Artist Guild (DSAG), located at 553 High St. in Dedham Square, kicks off the month of December with a bunch of events and extended hours so that the public can meet local artists and guild members, purchase their art, and help fuel the local economy.

One of those member artists is Melanie Guerra of Westwood. She will host a jewelry trunk show, open to the public, between 2 and 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Join Melanie to learn about her beautifully crafted art. Her knowledge of gems and experience with metal, beads and wire allow her to create one of a kind pieces of jewelry. The trunk show lets admirers learn about specific pieces and purchase gifts for holiday giving directly from the artist.

Today, Melanie is living and working in Westwood with her husband and daughter. She began creating jewelry while she was a student at Emerson College in the early 1990s.

By 2001, requests for her pieces became so frequent she formed Dream Big Arts, and began selling her collection of original, one-of-a-kind pieces in shops, galleries, and online. She also did a number of festivals and tremendously successful trunk shows in both private homes and retail stores. 

She is thrilled to be selling her work at the Dedham Square Artist Guild and looking forward to showing her work this Saturday. 

If you can’t make the trunk show on Saturday, Melanie’s jewelry and the art of 28 other local artists are for sale at Dedham Square Artist Guild shop year round.  Special events in December include the following: 

• Preview Party on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 6-8 p.m.
• Dedham’s Holiday Stroll on Friday, Dec. 2, from 5-9 p.m. 
• Guild artist Melanie Guerra jewelry trunk show on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 2-5 p.m.
• Guild artist Barbara Trainer jewelry trunk show on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 5-8 p.m. 
• Tarot Card reading on Saturday, Dec. 17, details to be announced.
