The Hall at Patriot Place and Raytheon to Host Science Program for Hundreds of Girl Scouts

The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon will host 300 Girl Scouts for an interactive science program in celebration of National Engineers Week Girl Day on Feb. 20.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass.– Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) and The Hall at Patriot Place are teaming up to promote and celebrate what the National Engineers Week Foundation has designated as Girl Day on Thursday, Feb. 20. Raytheon will host 300 Girl Scouts at The Hall for a look at the fascinating world of math and science with two interactive shows performed by Science from Scientists.

The program is designed to demonstrate that math and science are part of the world around us. The first session will begin at 10 a.m. in The Hall’s Raytheon Theater with an afternoon session scheduled for 2 p.m.

Both sessions will feature an hour-long Science from Scientists show and a tour of the interactive Hall exhibits.

The Science from Scientists program will include up-close experiments like Chemiluminescence (or how chemicals can glow in the dark) and Elephant Toothpaste (or how catalysts speed up reactions). The Scouts will also cheer on a scientist, who will lie on a bed of nails.

Raytheon and the New England Patriots collaborate to promote STEM education throughout the year through programs such as the Science of Sports Science Fair and The Massachusetts STEM Teacher of the Year initiative. The Hall also hosts more than 15,000 students on STEM-related field trips as well as teacher professional development and supplemental STEM programs.
