St. Patrick's Day WESC Fundraiser

The Westwood Elementary Schools Coalition (WESC) Spring Social fundraiser will be held on St. Patrick's Day, March 17 at Moseley's in Dedham at 7:30 p.m.  

It's a fun, casual event with food, entertainment and a live and silent auction. WESC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 volunteer organization that raises funds for all five elementary schools and their respective PTOs/PTAs.

There are over 100 unique auction items including gift certificates for interior design services, closet organization, Indian cooking lessons and tree and masonry services.  

For families already planning for the summer, the auction offers weeks of summer camp (Babson, BC High, Mass Premier Courts and others), tutoring, town sport session donations, Storyland passes and birthday parties (at the Dedham Health and Athletic Club Water Park, Needham Dance or a bouncy house rental for a home birthday party to name a few).

There are plenty of fun experiences to bid on such as a trip to the movies with a favorite teacher or becoming principal for a day.  

Luxury items include dinner at Troquet, a stay at the Ritz Carlton in Boston, cases of wine and a topaz pendant.

"WESC is proving the opportunity for the families of Westwood to show how much we appreciate living in a great town that provides one of the best educations in Massachusetts for our children," said Michael F. Walsh, President of WESC, in a statement. "A donation to WESC will help enhance the educational experience for our kids- from funds for field trips to curriculum enrichment and classroom supplies. The event is also a great way for friends and neighbors in Westwood to get together outside of school events and sports fields and have a great time."

WESC has raised nearly one million dollars over its 18-year history for curriculum and cultural enrichment programs, field trips, computer equipment, recess supplies, art programs, classroom supplies, and much more for the Westwood elementary schools.
