Bake Sale for Relay For Life

Resident Patrick Comer will be hosting a bake sale at the  Soccer Fields from 9-11:30 a.m.

The money raised at the bake sale will go directly to the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life Greater Norwood.

Four years ago, Comer's uncle Seamus died of cancer. He was buried on his 36th birthday. Every year since, Comer has organized a group of friends (about 15 Westwood sophomores) to participate in the Norwood Relay for Life.

Together, the groups have raised over $20,000 for the American Cancer Society, and this year hopes to hit the $25,000 mark.

On June 17 and 18th, their team "Comers United" will walk overnight (at the Walpole High School track) in memory of and in honor of many cancer victims. That event begins with a survivor lap and there is a moment of silence and lighting of candles at 9 p.m.
