Westwood Recreation's annual Tea Party for Princesses & Knights will teache simple manners and fulfill a dream for aspiring princesses and knights ages 4-8.
The Tea Party will revolve around the red-carpet coronation of the Princesses and Knights of Westwood Castle. To prepare, the children will decorate scepters and practice curtsies/bows. They will also review polite-guest behaviors and basic introduction skills, including the handshake. On a queue from Lady J’s magic wand “Wanda” the children will then follow Lady J to the “Court” and each walk down the red carpet to be crowned a princess or knight. Afterwards, bedecked with tiaras/crowns and pink-satin or black/silver capes, the princesses and knights will proceed to a tea table that will be dressed with pink lace and china. Following a review of basic table manners, the troupe will enjoy “royal tea” (pink lemonade) and treats, an original tea-party tale, and conversation.
The party will end with The Polka-Dot Princess, an original story/game.
