Winter Storm Warning For Westwood Sunday; Should be Clear Monday

By Monday, the skies should be clear.

A winter storm warning was put into effect until 7 p.m. Sunday for Westwood and the surrounding area.

The National Weather Service put snow accumulation totals at between 4 and 8 inches, with the heaviest of the snow falling before 1 p.m.

With wind gusts predicted to reach up to 50 mph, blizzard-like conditions were predicted for a time.

A winter storm warning is issued when 6 or more inches of snow is expected within a 12 hour period, or 8 or more inches are expected in 24 hours.

By Monday, however, the skies should be clear. It will be sunny, with a high near 30. Wind chill values, however, could be as low as -3 degrees, with gusts as high as 34 mph.
