Suspicious Theft on Pond Street (4:27 p.m.) - A Pond Street resident reported to police that a man, whom was described as a white male and heavyset, came to the door of his residence regarding tree work he was doing in the area after a recent storm. The solicitor and the resident then went to the back yard of the property to assess potential damage and needed work, and the solicitor then told the resident he would come back to conduct the work. Upon entering his home, the resident found that money had been taken from a black billfold and from a box within the house. Police determined that while the solicitor was distracting the home owner, an affiliate may have entered the house, unbeknown to the resident, and removed the cash. The resident claimed the solicitor left in a blue or black-colored SUV with white mixed into the color scheme. The matter remains under investigation.

Verbal Altercation (1:44 a.m.) - A resident of Pear Tree Drive was involved in a verbal altercation, according to Westwood Police. The resident elected to remove a baseball bat from the trunk of a vehicle he was operating. A criminal summons was subsequently filed for assault with a dangerous weapon.
